Within the project, Health Education classrooms were established at the three pilot schools.
The proposal for such a classroom came from the High Schools of Mathematics and Natural sciences in the town of Kazanlak. The need for a specialized classroom to hold classes in Health Education by using interactive teaching methods provoked the school and local coordinators to raise funds in order to repair and overhaul one of the rooms in the school. Students and the teaching staff took up the idea with enthusiasm. First the design for the classroom was produced. Then various fundraising proposals were made for the repairs and furnishing works. Many parents made donations. The students organized a charity concert and dance party and donated the money raised to the Health Education Classroom project. The Municipality of Kazanlak also joined the fundraiser. In addition to fundraising, students contributed hours of work during the repairs and refurbishing of the classroom. Technical equipment was provided through the MATRA Programme.
Classes in Health Education in the specially built classroom have generated increased interest and have motivated students to attend and participate.

The initiative of the pilot school in Kazanlak allowed the other two pilot schools to replicate the experience. Within the project, School No.21 HristoBotevSofia and the St.St. Cyril and Methodius National Humanitarian Gymnasium, Bgoevgrad had such classrooms built. The bulk of funding for the classroom repairs and furnishing was provided by the MATRA Programme, the schools collecting the additional funds through various fundraising events such as charity bazaars, concerts and others.
